Prof Kiki pores over Ezra recommendations

Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa—In recognition of her outstanding commitment to academic excellence, Kiki Kat, a self-taught scholar, has been awarded an honorary professorship by The Research Faculty.

The award comes after it was recognised that Kiki Kat was devoting remarkable amounts of time to reviewing academic literature and improving her writing skills. This is the first such professorship to be awarded by The Research Faculty.

In announcing the award and speaking for Kiki Kat, who was unfortunately unavailable to comment in person, Bruce Conradie, spokesperson for The Research Faculty, said, “Prof Kiki has expressed her surprise and delight at the award.

“However, Prof says the award is nothing more than the natural outcome of her deep and abiding interest in the written word. She never intended to attract the plaudits of humankind.”

Prof Kiki has also expressed profound appreciation for Ezra, a writing advisory service offered by The Research Faculty. In her new role, Prof Kiki will contribute to the further development of the service, expanding its feline vocabulary. Prof Kiki says this is an under-researched area, offering humankind wide scope for adding to the feline body of knowledge. She will also be compiling a lexicon of the Miawian languages of Southern Africa.

“We are excited about the future. Ezra continues to grow and we are continuing to expand its scope of analysis.

“In addition, we are now offering Ezra to individual students, not only university departments.

“Prof Kiki has become an inspiration to both students and scholars; we all have much to learn,” concludes Conradie.
